Our beloved Angela "Angel" Macias-Machacek, age 48, resident of Austin, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Machacek and her son, John Carmelo Machacek. Angela leaves behind her heartbroken parents, Carmelo L. Macias and Dolores Macias; her beloved children, John Irek Machacek, Fabian Cruz Machacek, Joshua Frank Machacek (Ashley Nicole); and three grandchildren, Leah, Ella and Zaya; her brother, Gino Macias (Annette Macias); her niece and nephew, Frankie and Alora; numerous cousins, and other loving family members and friends. Angela was born in San Antonio, TX, but was raised in Austin where she attended Harris Elementary, Pearce Middle School and graduated from Bowie High School, later she attended Austin Community College where she studied American Sign Language. Angela became involved with the family business at a very young age and continued to work there while raising her children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met. The loves of her life were her three granddaughters who she spent as much time as she could with them. Her passion was cooking. She was always looking for recipes on the internet and couldn’t wait to try them. Her dream was to someday open up a restaurant of her own. She loved dancing, laughing, taking long drives listening to music, sharing a funny story and having deep conversations about life, history and family. Angela also had a vast collection of music she loved. From Latin freestyle, country, hip hop, oldies, rock, to being a huge fan of Austin music, she was always interested in listening to something new and exciting. We will miss her deeply, her laugh, her voice, her energy, her friendship and above all the love she had for her family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Alliance of Mental Illness, Central Texas (NAMI).
