Obituary of Modesta S. Tobias

Our beloved Modesta "Molly" Samilpa Tobias, age 83, native resident of Austin, Texas, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 26, 2022. 

Molly was a beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and godmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham Samilpa and Georgia Medrano Samilpa; her siblings and in-laws, Frances Gatica (Johnny), Pedro Samilpa, Sr., Liandro Samilpa (Frances); and sister-in-law, Angelina Samilpa. 

Molly is survived by her husband of 50 beautiful years, Natividad "Nate" M. Tobias; her son, Paul Samilpa (Bea), her grandchildren, Vanessa Samilpa (Roy), David "DJ" Padilla, Jr., Matthew Padilla, and Christi Castro; her great grandchildren, Anthony Ojeda, Kameron Ojeda, Camilla Andrada, Andrew Padilla, Zachary Padilla, Luke Padilla, and Noah Padilla; her siblings, Isidro Samilpa, Janie Castillo (Jesse), Marcelina Avila (Pedro); numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews, and many other loving family and friends. 

Holding a special place in her heart always for; Margaret Samilpa, Regina Martinez, Celeste Robles, Arianna Robles, and Caitlyn Robles. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be Anthony Ojeda, Kameron Ojeda, Joel Castillo, Michael Samilpa, Arnold Gonzales, Joe Gatica, Abraham John Samilpa, Gabriel Gonzales, Bobby Martinez, andn Mario Castillo. Honoroary Pallbearers are Margaret Samilpa, Esther Riojas, Camilla Andrada, Regina Martinez, Celeste Robles, Arianna Robles, and Caitlyn Robles. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8th, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 9th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf Street, Austin, Texas 78704.

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
