Obituary of Ignacio Camarillo, Jr.

Our beloved Ignacio Camarillo Jr, age 69, was called by our Heavenly Father on November 24, 2022, after a lengthy and courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father Ignacio Camarillo Sr, mother Isabel Rocha Camarillo, brother Reyes Rocha Camarillo and sister Mary Elizabeth Camarillo.

Ignacio was a hardworking man who loved his family unconditionally and always put them first. He loved to sit on his patio playing music. He loved rooting for his Houston Oilers, Astros, and Texans. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and enormous loving heart. His homestead, known as the Rancho, will never be the same and he will truly be missed by all. 

Ignacio is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 41 years Linda Camarillo; Loving daughters Vanessa Contreras (Dan) and Isabel Chance (Justin); His pride and joys, his grandkids Natalie Camarillo, Caleb Camarillo, Isaiah Herrera and Jeremiah Herrera;  siblings Irene Edel, Emily Kierklewski (Mark), Richard Camarillo (Lupe), Josie Camarillo Borrero , Rene Camarillo (Melanie); numerous relatives and life long friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Camarillo, Dan Contreras, Justin Chance, Eric Mendoza, Hunter Ray and Michael Dominguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Herrera, Jeremiah Herrera and J.C. Falcon.

A Special Thank You to Dr. Rebecca Fisher of Texas Oncology and  Enhabit Hospice Care for their care, compassion and gentleness for Ignacio through this process. We are forever grateful.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street (South).

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at San Francisco Javier Catholic Church 9110 US-183 Austin, 78747. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
