Obituary of Anita G. Lara
Our beloved Anita G. Lara, age 91 of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, Teodoro O. Lara; her beloved children, Tony Lara, Guadalupe Lara, Jesse Lara, Roy Lara, Sylvia Ruedas, Hector Lara, Janie Robles and Antonia Hinojosa.
She is survived by her loving children, Mary Rivas, Joe Lara, George Lara, Irma Salazar, and Martin “Marty” Lara; 27 Grandchildren; 59 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Grandchild, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family, and friends.
Anita was a resilient woman and was committed to her family who she loved very much. She was a hard working woman, and sometimes held 2 jobs to help take care of everyone. She was happiest in the comfort of her home and when members of her family would stop by to visit her. We would usually find her sitting at the kitchen table looking out the window or watching her favorite shows. She loved music and loved to dance. She and grandpa even won dance contests! She was a mother to everyone: her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Her laughter was just as contagious as her sense of humor.
For many years, she served as a Guadalupana at Dolores Catholic Church. She loved the Lord very much. Many times we would find her in her room praying for everyone. Anita will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she will never be forgotten.
