Obituary of Victoria Angelina Moreno

Please share a memory of Victoria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce our family’s Matriarch, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Pastor, Victoria Angelina Moreno, 75, of Austin, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 8, 2020.  We will truly miss her daily blessings, but we know she’s in a better place, rejoicing in Heaven.

Angelina was born in Mathis, Texas and then the family set down their roots in Austin.  She would tell us stories of how she would walk across I-35 when it was only a two-lane road. Angelina grew up in the east part of town, The Holly Neighborhood.   Angelina was 1 of 13 siblings.  Family, laughter and get-togethers were always so very important to her.  Her home was always open and her arms were ready to surround those who needed prayer.  She came into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in 1975.  Her faith never wavered and her passion to minister and love on others ran deep.  Angelina’s ministry started as an Evangelist at Templo Sinai on Montopolis, then she went on to Pastor her own church, Word of Power.  Her commitment and ministry continued as they opened up Casa Moreno’s Restaurant on Burleson Road.  You couldn’t walk into that place without seeing her smile and getting a genuine hug and prayer if you asked for it.  She had a contagious laugh that filtered down to her children.  Her legacy is Love and Forgiveness.  Her children and grandchildren were her joy and strength.  Her saying was “I love you to the moon and back”.   Her golden heart continues to beat on through her love.

Angelina is survived by her husband of 55 years, Refugio Moreno; her beloved children, Frances Ramirez and husband, Angel, Pamela Bergara and husband Ric, Liza Kranz, Janie Balderas and husband, Arthur, Tony Moreno and wife, Michelle, Delores Costilla and husband, Phillip, Cecilia Rodriguez, Diana Moreno, and grandson raised as her own, Jerry Garcia; her siblings, Henry Morris, Lydia Alonzo, Janie Macias, Victor  and wife Margaret Alonzo, John and wife Gloria Alonzo, Ida Ramirez, Jesse Alonzo, Grace A.and husband Don Aguilera, Julie Alonzo Hernandez and husband Daniel Montana, Julian Alonzo, Maria Quick; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Her grandchildren who kept her young and active, Angel Joshua Ramirez, Benjamin Ramirez, Meagan Clark, Brandon Bergara, Brittany Clark, Andrea “Poqui” Bergara, Jordan Kranz, Moses Marrero, Matthew and wife Anastasia Marrero, Gabrielle Balderas, Chasity Balderas, Evelyn Moreno, Bianca and husband Austin MacCargar, Toby Dominguez, Melody and husband Mark Collins, Felicity Aranda, Destiny Aranda, Nickolus “Buddy” Aranda, Celena Rodriguez and husband Joshua, Gaby Hernandez.
