I have such fond memories of getting together with the family during Christmas time. There were lots of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandma eating menudo and laughing together.
My Tia Angie was always there with her family, helping all the kids. She had such a comforting, sweet voice. Her and my dad were close in age and were always telling us stories about what it was like growing up in East Austin. My Tia was such a beautiful, kind and sweet soul. I miss her so much and she will always be in our hearts.

I started eating breakfast on my way to work every morning at Casa Moreno’s Restaurant about 17 years ago where I met the owners known as Cuco and Angie Moreno. They would always stop by my table to say hello and when Angie was not too busy she would sit with me a while, she spoke proudly of her children and grandchildren. She spoke also of time spent as a pastor of her church and she always stated, “ I can do all things through God”. Eventually my husband Teo and I met her children and their families, we became family friends, we were honored. We will miss her greatly, however, she taught me that, I can do all things through God.

Pam...Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you deal with your loss. I came across this poem that I thought you might enjoy.
SAFELY HOME
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth--
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the pleasure of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

From the Cantu family Our deepest condolences to your family . I want to say i Dawn Cantu was truly blessed to have known pastor Angie she taught me so much I learned from her I always would apply things in my life what she taught me from the word of God . It was a blessing to have meet her I loved to her sing in church with her guitar I looked forward to her preachings She always wanted my dad to play he’s base at church or for my mom to sing in the front with her and she also allowed me to teach the little kids at her church. And her singing was so anointed that while my brother was in the hospital we sang songs to him the ones she sang we even we put a few on for him so he could hear her sing i could call her and she was always ready to pray for me She was a true woman of God she touched so many lives and me and my family will miss her so much . Pastor Angie I love you and thank you for everything say hi to all my loved ones in Heaven I’m sure there so happy to see you
You will always be missed But what I do know we will always remember You Te quiero mucho
