My name is Patsy Burns. My mother and I knew Mario from Angel's Recovery Church. He used to help us cook in the kitchen for the homeless and serve after worship.
He would always be smiling and laughing, never a bad moment on his face.
I had been working for MaryLee Foundation for 13 years in another section, till February I stopped him and said Hey, you used to go to Angels right? He immediately remembered me and my Mom.
I'm so happy to have reconnected with him because in the end right on the last day I saw him.....we promised when all this Cov19 is over...we would go to church together and worship with my mother to be led by Pastor George Crisp. He said, YES WE SHALL AGAIN, AMEN!!
Well, we shall be worshipping in Heaven my brother. I can't believe you are gone. My heart is so broken. A true soldier for God!!
To the family, he was and still is an inspiration to all of us at Mary Lee Foundation!! RIH my awesome brother, I miss you so much!

My heart is filled with sadness and is broken. My brother Mario meant the world to me and helped our family in so many ways. He brought so much joy and laughter to every family gathering. His loving and caring spirit will remain in my heart forever. May God heal our hearts and bless us all.

One of my MOST fondest memories is the day Mario & Lu "gave me away" to the love of my life! This was the day they prepared me for my entire life and that I will forever hold dear!
Perfect Example:
The weeks leading up to my Wedding Day, my car broke down. Mario graciously offered to drive me to and from work (45 mins- 1 way into Austin from Bastrop & back) while my car was in the shop, but the stipulation was that I was to read to him everyday BOTH ways. I graciously thanked him for the offer and said "I'll sing to you if I have to". The very next morning he picked me up from home (6am) and I thought he would forget about the deal or that I could catch just another 5-10 mins shut eye. But he gave me a big hug & smile as I climbed into his car and then set his favorite copy of The Bible in my lap and asked that I start on the first page in the Book of Genesis.
He was a true Soldier of the Lord & I await the day to re-join them in the Lord's Kingdom. Forever in my heart till the day we meet again and I will continue to live to make you proud!

We first met Mario many years ago at Jubilee Christian Center where He was In Our SIngles Group there. He was always full of Love for His Lord and Savior and radiant in HIs love for others We last saw Mario at the 'Second Portions' Bible Study Group led by the Cunningham's held at Bill Miller Barbecue. He was the same on fire for the Lord Brother giving God all the Glory and joyful at all Our meetings. We rest assured He is with Jesus now walking on those streets of gold and reunited with His deeply loved little bother, Eddie.
We shall see You dear Brother on the other side when We too shall Fly Away. God Speed.
Love in Christ,
Jane Diane & Kevin Mullett

I will always remember my Brother Mario as an immensely jovial, patient and caring man. He always brightened up any room with his laughter and positivity. This, and how he cared for his family was what I admired most about him growing up. Now I’m doubly proud of how he has committed his life to helping not only adults like my brother Eddie with Downs Syndrome but also others in need of spiritual guidance. He was so committed to both of these causes and it brought him so much satisfaction and joy. I love him beyond words can describe and miss him dearly. May he thrive in the presence of the Lord our God.
