My condolences to the Hernandez family. Gena and I worked together for many years at the Texas Workforce Commission. She was kind and generous with her time and talent. Always a joyful co-worker. She also spoke fondly of her family and shared some of you all's life events. I pray that you all are able to cherish and find comfort in the memories you made with Gena. May God continue to bless and comfort all of you. Dale Robertson

Gena and I worked together at TWC. She was very skilled in her work and was always generous helping others. She told me of her Mother’s residence in Prattville, Alabama, which eventually resulted in me reconnecting with a long lost friend. I shall always remember Gena’s excitement about my reconnecting with my friend via her Mom. I recall Gena being on sick leave back before 2010, and her absence impacted many who worked with her. She was truly a beautiful blonde woman. My prayer is for peace and comfort for her beloved family.

My deepest sympathies go out to your family. Gena and I worked together on many projects for over 10 years. We shared so many jokes and teased each other about our work life. I am going to miss her humor, her smile, and her presence in the office.

Gena's family and friends are in our hearts today as we remember this wonderful woman. Gena was not just a colleague to the people she worked with in the Texas Workforce Commission. She valued the people around her and she made many friends because she was kind in her daily life.
I will miss her work-related and life advice, smile, and hugs.
I thank God and her family for sharing her with us for these few years.

My sincere condolences to the family. I met Gena almost 4 years ago when I started working for the Texas Workforce Commission. We have worked together ever since and our team became so close...like a family. Gena loved to help her co-workers. She had so much knowledge to share, and loved training us. She also knew all the best places to pick up lunch. She had friends all over the agency, and I know she is going to be missed. Gena was a believer, so I know she is with the Lord right now ("absent from the body, present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8), and I will see her again. I thank God for our time together as co-workers and friends. Rest in Peace Gena.

We met in our teens through our husbands who are cousins. We immediately bonded and felt like we've know each other forever and became best friends. I became a part of your wonderful family and your parents treated me as one of their own. We had our children at the same time and enjoyed watching them grow into fine adults we were always very proud of. We shared many wonderful times together and weathered some tough times. But we always stuck together. I will miss you so much but u will always be in my heart. Kiss your dad and Henry for me. I know they were there to greet u as u entered Heaven. Rest in PEACE my dear friend. I love u.
