Obituary of Ernest Carmona Diaz

Our beloved Ernest Carmona Diaz, age 59, resident of Austin, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 29, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father, Venancio "Benny" Diaz and his grandson, Adrian Diaz.

He is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Frances and Morris Ledesma; his daughter, Ernestina Diaz; his sister, Margie Diaz and her husband, Martin Hernandez; five treasured grandchildren, Benny Diaz, Marissa Diaz, Maria Espinosa, Amalia Espinosa, and Carolina Espinosa; his great-granddaughter, Serenity Adriana Munoz; nieces, Sandra and her husband Marcelo Martinez, and Liza and her husband Cesar Lopez and nephew, Rudy; great-nieces, Mary Frances and her husband, Angel Rodriguez, Naomi Anayi, and Logan Rein; great-great-nieces, Leena Marie, Annie Rae, and great-great-nephew, Adonis Morris and many other loving family members and friends.

He was known as Uncle Minnow because he called all his nieces and nephews Little Minnows.  His family and friends referred to him as Ernest T. Bass from the Andy Griffin Show.  The character fit him perfectly.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
