The day we met Ernie we met the best friend we ever had from then on. We got to know him and he got to see my 7 kids grow older and they love him like a uncle, they loved it when he said "y'all be good little minnows", it really made all my kids laugh when they heard those words. Thank you Ernie for being the greatest friend and uncle in our lives. My heart goes out to Frances and all the Diaz family, may the good lord be with you all in this time of sorrow. The lord has a good angel to watch over his loved ones here on earth. We love you and may your soul rest in piece Ernie.

Ernie was something special. From the moment I met him I knew he had a spark in him that would never let him be forgotten. He always has a way of making people smile and I cannot think of a time I never saw one on his face and a beer in his hand. I’ll miss him.
My last conversation with him was at a funeral for our cousin. He was frail and went off to sit by himself on a bench. I joined him and although he was visibly tired he still flashed that signature Ernie smile. I asked him how he was doing and he said not too good. He told me he had made some mistakes and was sorry for them. I told him he didn’t need to apologize to me because we would love him no matter what and he nodded his head ok. We sat there together in the shade in silence and it is a moment I will never forget.
I hope you found your peace and are whole once more Ernie. Thank you for the beautiful memories.
Bless you all during this difficult time. Sending you my deepest condolences and much love.

Our most Sincere Condolences to France, Morris & Margie and to all of Ernest's family.
We grew up on Gunter St. and our families are still neighbors. I have many fond memories of younger days as kids, we'd play football or baseball out in the street,
across at Central or at Govalle School. During our childhood days, there were no fences between yards, so whenever any of us needed to report home, if we were in the middle of a game or activity, all we had to do was call "Time Out" and resume the game/activity in that friends yard and since we all lived either next door or a couple of houses down, we were always close to home.
Although our adult lives led us in different directions and we saw less and less of each other, We've always considered Ernest a true friend.
May God Bless your Soul Ernest and may you now Rest In Peace.
