I just learned of Joni’s passing. I was her neighbor in Bailey and since moving to Littleton, I had her to
My house. She was so excited about her bread that she was going to sell at King Soopers! She was always so animated and fun. Even though I’m old enough to be her Mother, she always treated me as a friend. I have texted her and called her phone because I was thinking of her. When someone else answered, I became concerned. Then I googled her and got the sad news. I so wish I’d known. I’m sad I missed the Littleton service. I am so sorry for the loss of a sweet, sweet girl but happy she is with the Lord. Sincerely, Judy Ferrin

I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Joni. We went to UNI together and I lived next door to her in the dorms. Joni was so much fun and full of this wonderful energy. Her smile was contagious and you couldn't help but feel happiness when you were around her. Many wonderful memories of Joni I will treasure. May you take great comfort knowing that she is with God now and will be reunited again in God's heavenly kingdom. My deepest sympathy to your family.

Joni Marie: I love you so much. I will never forget you, your kindness, the dreams we shared, and our hilarious stories. You were talented in so many areas: a nutritionist who selflessly shared her knowledge and helped so many, a lithe and graceful dancer, an innovative and healthy baker and cook who always made simple meals beautiful, a wonderful mother and sister who loved her family to pieces.
I can't believe we can no longer call each other and say, "Hi, Joni! It's Joni!" It made us laugh every single time; we took special delight in sharing our first and middle names. It all started in a small TV class in college and turned into a stint as roomies in Denver...a crazy and funny post-college year. We've since shared trips, phone calls, emails, and texts for the last 35 years; I will miss you for the rest of my life.
This is crushing and unfair, to say the least. I wish us all peace as we process this terrible loss. My heart goes out to all family and friends reading this. I know you each have a special piece of her in your hearts, forever.

I have tried often to leave some words of condolence but every time I have visited, words have failed me. I can't imagine a world without her beautiful smile and never-ending positivity. Joni was my friend. More than that, she was my sister. I will miss being able to talk to her about anything! We could spend hours talking, laughing, crying...she always listened. Joni knew how to enjoy life! She knew the importance of loving unconditionally and lived it. Our loss is great because she brought light and acceptance wherever she went. Please know that I share your grief and that I'm here. I could go on forever, reliving all of the fun memories that I have... Thank you, Joni, for being my friend, my confidant, my partner in crime.... I know you will be watching and waiting for us, so save us good seat...I'll bring the Backgammon board and wine!
"The agony is great and yet I will stand it. Had I not loved so much I would not hurt so much. But goodness knows I would not want to diminish that precious love by one fraction of an ounce. I will hurt. And I will be grateful for that hurt for it bears witness to the depth of our meaning. And for that I will be eternally grateful." - Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Love and hugs to all...

I am so saddened to hear of Joni's passing. I knew her through church and I called her a friend. Joni was so strong and so passionate in her beliefs. She inspired me. Joni was so courageous. Just through her actions she taught me the definition of courage. We always sat together at church and prayed with each other. We would have long talks together after church.
I admired Joni. She was a beautiful woman. I know she struggled and it was very hard at the end. But she had belief in her healing. Sometimes the healing just doesn't come in the physical world, but comes in to full fruition in the spiritual world. Joni's spirit is now free and unencumbered from any physical limitations, trials, fears, anxiety or doubts.
It is hard for those of us who remain behind to not be able to be near and talk with Joni. I hope the things we did and said while she was with us showed her how much we loved her.
I miss her tremendously already but I am so blessed to have known her, even for a short amount of time. My heartfelt sympathy goes to Valeri. Joni talked so much about her and how much she loved her. May the love that she had for Valeri support her throughout her life in her memory and in her heart. Valeri, keep your mother alive in your heart. Don't ever feel that she is gone. She is there in spirit right next to you and you can talk to her anytime you want to. She is always right there to support you.
I lost my older sister the same way that you lost Joni. I felt a special connection to Joni in that respect. I think that's why it was so important for me to support Joni and pray for her so fervently and to send her good vibes for healing and good health. Maybe they could meet each other up in heaven. If that's even possible they are both in excellent company. I loved them both.
May you all keep Joni's spirit alive and active in your heart. She no longer suffers in this life but is free in the spirit world and lives with her creator now.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her whole family. May you all be blessed having had Joni there in your midst.
Please do let me know when the celebration of her life will be in Littleton Colorado.
Peace Blessings and Love
Joe Stanley

Joni was a great mentor and influence for me in my health journey. We were roommates in California and I followed her to Colorado. We had some great times together. We laughed we cried we prayed. She will be truly missed.
Let me know if I can help at all in Littleton CO or let me know if there will be a service. I am so sorry for your loss!

I am so saddened to hear this news. While Joni and I have not seen each other for years, we were friends on Facebook. We went to school together since kindergarten at hanawalt and we were in girl scouts together.i think her mother was our troop leader at one time. God bless her family during this difficult time

We were deeply saddened to hear of Joni's passing. Our congregation added Joni and those she loved to our prayers today. She will be very missed, as she was a warm and loving light in our community. She shared wonderful gifts from her kitchen with many of us. Mine came in cute little bags, personally decorated for that added touch of Joni. Personally, I will miss her smile, creative ideas, and courage to pursue her dreams.
She spoke frequently of her daughter and how much she loved her. There were many tears this morning, for many will miss her as I will. We will continue to hold you in our prayers as you travel the path of grief.
Our deepest sympathy.
Love,
Pastor Susan
