William Lyon (Bill) Ducker 1946-2007
William Lyon (Bill) Ducker was born on May 1, 1946, in Tecumseh, OK, to William Lyon Ducker , Jr., and June Kehl Ducker. He returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 13, 2007, while riding his bicycle with his daughter Eleanor.
He grew up in Lubbock and was graduated from Monterey High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1968 to 1972 and later completed his degree at the University of Texas in Austin. He was employed at the Texas Department of Insurance as a database administrator.
He was converted to Christianity in 1988 and was active in the continuing Anglican movement for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Missionary Church.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, June Ducker of Lubbock; his wife, Claire Ducker, and daughters, Katherine Gill and Eleanor Price, all of Austin; grandsons, Connor and Duncan Gill, both of Asheville, NC; and host of dear friends and family members.
Bill loved the Lord and loved his family. He liked to read, ride his bicycle, and spend time with his family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, at facilities graciously provided by St. Michael?s Episcopal Church, 1500 N. Capital Of Texas Highway. The Rev. Len Giacolone of St. Francis EMC will preside. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery. Reception to follow service.
