Beverly K. Jenkins 1945-2007Beverly Kay Jenkins passed away on July 26, 2007, after battling courageously for more than three years with cancer. Beverly was first introduced to the world on July 27, 1945. Her childhood was spent in the small town of Arma, Kansas, where she lived happily with her family and many wonderful friends. Beverly graduated from Crawford County Community High School while living in Arma. She later attended and was a graduate of the Kansas State School of Cosmetology located in Pittsburg, Kansas. At age sixteen Beverly met the man with whom she would eventually spend the rest of her life, Glen D. Jenkins. Beverly and Glen were married on June 17, 1967, and recently celebrated their fortieth anniversary. Beverly enjoyed careers as a stylist, an apartment manager, a stay at home mother and, most recently, as an esthetician and co-salon owner in Austin, Texas. Beverly was not only a loving and devoted wife and mother; she was a devout Catholic, who lived her life through the Lord. In short, she was simply a wonderful human being, who will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her. She had a strong love for all, including animals and especially her two dogs, Toby and Sage. She managed to touch each person?s life. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents William Talarico and Florence Martino Talarico. She is survived by her loving husband Glen, 61, son Geoffrey Ryan Jenkins, 31, and daughter Lyndsy Renee Jenkins, 29. She also leaves behind her adoring sisters Mary Ann Boyd of Arma, KS; Billie Lee Peak of Pittsburg, KS; Karen Rose Pryer of Arma, KS; and Patricia Eileen Whitmore of Olathe, KS. In addition, her many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends keep her memory deep within their hearts. Beverly?s family would like to thank the entire medical staffs of MD Anderson in Houston, Seton Hospital of Austin and the Christopher House in Austin. Special thanks also to Dr. Fain and the staff at SWRCC of Austin, who helped fight alongside Beverly. The recitation of the rosary will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church at 5455 Bee Caves Rd in Austin, TX at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday July, 29. A Mass of Christian burial will be held the following morning at 10:30 a.m. also at St. John Neumann, with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers, Beverly?s family asks that donations be made to the St. John Neumann?s Building Fund in Beverly?s name.
