George Guerra 1948-2007Our beloved George Guerra, age 59, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 5, 2007.
George was an active member of the National Pan American Golf Association of Austin. He served in the Army during Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart. He spent all of his time with his children and grandchildren, this was his greatest accomplishment. We wanted to send out a special thank you to all of his golf buddies for their weekly contributions to his golf game, whether they wanted to contribute or not. These were some of his best memories.
He was preceded in death by brother Henry Guerra and father Jesse Guerra Sr.
Survivors include son George Eric Guerra of Kyle; daughter and son-in-law Lilly & Blake Layne of Austin; grandchildren December Williamson, Cassidy, Cadence and Calvert Layne of Austin; parents Alice & Juan Rangel of San Marcos; brothers and sisters Jesse & Dora Guerra of San Marcos, Rudy & Irene Guerra of San Marcos, Fred & Lolly Guerra of Kyle, Arthur Guerra of San Marcos, Edward & Charlotte Guerra of Brenham, Nora Guerra of San Marcos and Sally Guerra of Austin; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Recitation of rosary Sunday, 6:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church 2435 Oak Crest. Interment will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery.
