Our beloved Samuel T. Hernandez, age 62, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on June 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents Jovita and Tony Hernandez Sr. and sister Judy Rangel. Sam was a U.S. Army veteran, served two tours in Vietnam, a combat Veteran with the 101st Airborne Division and a cancer survivor. Retired from the ESC Region XIII where he was employed for 30 years. Delia would like to express her thanks to Dr. Tokaz and to her TXDOT family. Survivors include: his Beloved Wife; Delia C. Hernandez, Son; Samuel Hernandez Jr., Step-Daughter; Samantha Sustaita (Daniel), Brother; Tony Hernandez, 10 grandchildren; 1 great grand child, numerous nieces, nephews and several brothers and sisters in law. He leaves a host of friends to celebrate his life, most notably, Robert Morales Jr., Cid Maciel, Maurice and Fred Benitez. Recitation of Holy Rosary Tuesday at 7:00pm, Mission Funeral Home-Remembrance Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Jesse Euresti officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers are family members.
