Our beloved Emilia Sanchez Hernandez, age 77, a resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Our Mom was a baker by trade. She began her business in 1970 and up until 1997, baking thousands of cakes for the community and around Austin. She was known to many as the "Cake Lady". She was a member of the Joy Group and sang in the church choir.Survived by her beloved Children; Elizabeth "Liz" Cortez and George Ramirez, Emilia "Milly" Hernandez-Alba and Tony, Carlos E. Hernandez and Martha, Richard "Rico" Hernandez, John A. Hernandez and Mary Alice, and Father of her children; Charlie Hernandez, Sr., 4 Sisters; Tina Sanchez, Ramona Sanchez, Connie Castillo, Angel Borjas, one Brother; Eulalio Sanchez, 13 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her Parents; Ricardo G. and Emilia Caballero Sanchez, one Brother; Jacinto Sanchez, 2 Sisters; Esperanza Loera and Kitty Thomas. Recitation of Holy Rosary Thursday at 7:00p.m., Mission Funeral Home-Remembrance Chapel(Cesar Chavez). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Tom Frank officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers; Luke Sanchez, Richard Sanchez, Danny Castillo, David Castillo, Zac Alba and Carlos Hernandez, II. Honorary pallbearers; Ryan Ramirez and Fernando Cortez.
