Our Beloved Sister Florene C. Saucedo (Sister Anna Claire) was carried home to be in paradise with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, March 30, 2007. Sister was born February 20, 1914 to Leonor and Jose Saucedo in El Rey,TX.She lived at St. Andrew's Convent in San Antonio for many years. She became a missionary catechist of Divine Providence. Sister lived and dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Her years in Austin were spent as a loyal parishioner at Cristo Rey Church where she was a member of the 3rd Order Franciscans Fraternity. Sister was most happy doing for others as a teacher of God's word and as a caregiver for those in the community and family. Sister will always be remembered as a woman of many talents. She was an incredible source of happiness and joy to everyone who knew her. She spoke and wrote the word of God with such eloquence. She is survived by her sibling Sarah Cuevas (Andrew). She is preceded in death by her parents Leonor and Jose Saucedo and siblings, Jose Saucedo, Fred Saucedo, Narciso Saucedo, Leonor Garcia, and Josie Cavazos. Her many nieces and nephews, friends, and family members will miss her deeply and will strive to live by her example. Words cannot express the gratitude we owe David Cavazos for the dedication, devotion, and loving care he provided all these years to our beloved Sister. Pallbearers will be David Cavazos, Arthur Cavazos, Joe Alfred Saucedo, Frank G. Saucedo, Louis Cuevas, and Frank Martinez, Jr.. Recitation of the Holy Rosary Sunday at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Remembrance Chapel (Cesar Chavez). Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Monday at 10:00a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Jesse Euresti officiating. Internment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
