Amada Torrez Arredondo Our beloved Amada Torrez Arredondo, age 85, resident of Austin, passed away on Friday December 29, 2006. She was born in Creedmoor, Texas on September 13, 1921 to Delfino and Josefa Torrez.
She devoted her life to raising her family. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend shared a strong belief in our Heavenly Father. She enjoyed the outdoors and had an incredible ability to make any plant or flower grow. She was a big fan of ?Tiger Woods? although she knew very little about golf.
There are many things we can say about our Mom, but the greatest is that we know she loved us with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Agustin Arredondo, brother Ruben Torrez, sisters Sofia Trevino, and Nicomedez Torrez.
She is survived by her four children sons Joe Arredondo and wife Annie (Arlington), Augustine Arredondo Jr. and wife Sylvia (Austin); daughters Josie Alaniz and husband Ralph (Austin), Armelinda Smith and husband Steven (Henly); ten grandchildren Joanna, Rosemary, Amanda, Andrew, Stephanie, Andrea, Joe Gilbert, Michael, Nicholas and Angelica; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Mercedes Torrez,Jeronima Estorga; numerous nieces and nephews.
Recitation of rosary Monday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First St. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at San Jose . Rev. Msgr. Tom Frank will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
