Desiderio (Desi) Salazar 1924-2006 Desiderio (Desi) Salazar 1924-2006 Veteran of WWII, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather was called to rest by our Heavenly Father on Monday November 13, 2006 at the age of 82.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Romana Salazar and children, Barbara Jean Delgado, Maria Luisa Coleman, Nicanor Salazar, Mario Salazar, Desiderio Salazar Jr., Francisco Salazar, Monica Ramirez, Zulema Magness, Patricia Martinez, and Martin G. Salazar. He was proud of his 27 Grandkids and 23 Great Grandkids.
He was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, and proud brother of the Knights of Columbus. His family will miss his wisdom, humor and constant laughter.
Recitation of rosary Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First St. Mr. Salazar will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. ? 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Joseph A. Tomei, C.S.C. will officiate.
Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
