Our beloved Father, Johnny Montes Ledesma, age 87, was called by our Heavenly Father on July 6, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Aleman Ledesma, parents Juan and Josefa Ledesma, his brother Victor Manuel Ledesma (KIA-WWII) sister Celia Rodriguez and Cuca Clark. He is survived by his son, Victor M. Ledesma, and his son Rhys, and daughter, Cari, daughters, Dorothy, and Betty (Lupe), grandchildren, Christian (Ann Elyse)(Jean Marc),and, great granddaughter, Alissa Miana Krier.
Dad was actively involved in LULAC, and a strong supporter of Senator Gonzalo Barrientos, Judge Bob Perkins and many other local government officials.
He retired from the University of Texas after 32 years of faithful and dedicated service as a Master Carpenter. He was selected to utilize these skills in various prominent places including the Governor?s Mansion and President Johnson?s home in Johnson City. Community Service: Volunteer Community Food Distributor, Palmar Auditorium, and Meals on Wheels, and various other programs

Pallbearers will be: Manuel Villanueva, James Ramirez, Frank Rodriguez, Manuel Aleman, and Rhys Ledesma. Honorary pallbearers: Gonzalo Barrientos, Bob Perkins, Jean Marc Krier, Chencho Flores, Cecil Johnson.
Recitation of rosary Sunday, July 9, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 10, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Cemetery.
He will be greatly missed by many fellow golfers, softball, baseball players and fans.
