Our beloved Alejandro (Alex) R. Trevino, age 58, a resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 1, 2005.Our beloved Alejandro (Alex) R. Trevino, age 58, a resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 1, 2005. Alex was a veteran who served his country bravely during the Vietnam War. After returning to Austin he joined the Austin Fire Department where he flourished doing what he most enjoyed, making a difference in people s lives. Amongst his many accolades he served his Country and fellow firemen as a member of the Texas Task Force One which responded to the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster, special task force during the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster. He proudly served the citizens of Austin and retired after 30 year tenure. He is survived by beloved life partner of 17 years, Daisy Martinez; three children, James Rene Trevino, Tracy Trevino, Celena Lea Trevino; grandchildren, Courtney Rae Trevino, Lauren Avery Delgado, Nicholas Trevino; five siblings, Manuel Trevino and Carlie, Virginia Trevino of Dripping Springs, Margaret Valchar and Jerry of Taylor, Daniel Trevino and Judy, Veronica Trevino, all of Austin. He was preceded in death by parents Roque and Beatrice Trevino and his brother Rocky Trevino. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Pancreatic cancer research, P.O. Box 149100, Austin, TX 78714. Recitation of rosary Sunday, 7:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel (South). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Rev. Juan Carlos Lopez will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Trevino, Bobby Basquez, Daniel Trevino, Charlie Knobloch, Warren Weidler, and Lionel Foster. Serving as Honorary are Les Bunte, Dave Cochran, Larry Rimel, Tim Gallagher, Kelly and Keith Knobloch, Frank Bateman, Chuck Jones, Ken Wright, and Craig Braddock. Alex lived his life as Alex wanted to live it. He left nothing on the table.
