Our Beloved Father Abel Gonzales Garza, age 75 of Austin, Texas, was called by Our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 into Eternal Rest. Abel was an exceptional craftsman Tile setter by trade for 40 years. His projects ranged from large commercial buildings to luxurious custom homes. Over the years his work has been featured in various Custom Home & Designer Home magazines and had been awarded for custom work & design. He truly enjoyed his outdoors, camping with family, fishing, game hunting, and gardening. Abel is preceded in death by Parents; Claudio and Margarita (Gonzales) Garza, 4 Sisters; Virginia Galvan, Helen Samarripa, Frances Rodriguez, and Annie Vasquez, 3 Brothers; Alfredo Garza, Ramon Garza, and Antonio Garza. Mr. Garza is survived by His Beloved Wife of 57 years; Mary A. Garza, Children; Vicki A. Garcia and Husband Jesse R. Garcia, Angela C. Garza, Tammy C. Garza, Abel D. Garza, and Erica M. Garza and Husband Chad Wilson, 3 Sisters; Evangelina Canales, Mary L. Garza, and Oralia “Cookie” Garza, 18 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Visitation Services will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00p.m. at Mission Funeral Home - East Chapel, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez, Austin Texas 78702. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00a.m., Friday, February 23rd, 2024 with Rev. Fr. Bradford Hernandez Officiating at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin Texas 78741. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH-35, Austin Texas 78704.
