Nuestro amado Jose T. Mendez, de 85 años de edad, fue llamado al hogar de nuestro Padre Celestial el sabado, 10 de febrero, 2024.
Fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Jose Mendez y Julia Alejo Mendez; su esposa, Maria Juana Mendez; sus hijos, Jose Jaime Mendez, Juanito Mendez, y Jose Gaston Mendez; su hermana, Josefina Briseno; y su nieto, Ivan Mendez-Martinez.
A Jose le sobreviven sus hijos, Julia Mendez (Santos Alejo); Rosario Mendez (Joaquin Reyes), Gabriela Vargas (Saturnino Vargas), Angelica Cruz (Eladio Cruz), Christina Mendez (Gustavo Anaya), y Alejandra Mendez; 30 nietos, 30 bisnietos; sus hermanos, Adislada Mendez Alejo y Laurencio Mendez Ajejo; numerosos sobrinos, muchos primos, y otros amorosos familiares y amistades.
El velorio se realizará el miercoles, 21 de febrero, 2024, de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con la Recitación del Santo Rosario empesando a las 7:00 p.m., en Mission Funeral Home Serenity, 6204 S. 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745.
La Misa Fúnebre se realizará el jueves, 22 de febrero, 2024, a las 11:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78702.
El entierro seguirá en Assumption Cemetery.
Our beloved Jose T. Mendez, age 85, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Mendez and Julia Alejo Mendez; his wife, Maria Juana Mendez; his sons, Jose Jaime Mendez, Juanito Mendez, and Jose Gaston Mendez; his sister, Josefina Briseno; and his nephew, Ivan Mendez-Martinez.
Jose is survived by his children, Julia Mendez (Santos Alejo), Rosario Mendez (Joaquin Reyes), Gabriela Vargas (Saturnino Vargas), Angelica Cruz (Eladio Cruz), Christina Mendez (Gustavo Anaya), and Alejandra Mendez; 30 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Estanislada Mendez and Laurencio Mendez Alejo; numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins, and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78702.
Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
