Our beloved dad, Pedro Puente Aguilar, Sr., age 72, was called to our Heavenly Father on February 9, 2024. Dad was surrounded by love and supported fully by his children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Santanita Alvarez; his parents, Vicente and Marcelina Puente, and his brother, Sergio Puente Aguilar. Dad was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, on April 29th as the second child of 10 siblings and raised in Cedral, San Luis Potosi. He began working "hechandole ganas" early in life in many roles as a ranch hand, cutting lawns, and ultimately, as an oil field worker in Midland, Texas. Dad enjoyed the outdoors, wrestling, traveling, dancing, and working with his hands. Dad openly expressed his faith by giving "thanks to my Lord" any time he was asked how he was doing and attended Templo Sinai Church for the 11 years he resided in Austin, Texas as his health permitted. He made friends wherever he went and loved to laugh watching his television shows. Pedro is survived by his children, Vincent Puente (Stephanie), Nancy Fermin (Domingo), Angela Ocampo (Aldo), Lorina Ruiz (Reynaldo), Pedro Puente, Jr. (Cristina), and Flor Ramirez (Pastor Joshua); his siblings, Alicia Puente Aguilar, Javier Puente Aguilar, Juan Puente Aguilar, Elvia Puente Aguilar, Francisco Puente Aguilar, Vicente Puente Aguilar, Jr., Olivia Puente Aguilar, and Norma Puente Aguilar; 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Mission Funeral Home-South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
