Our beloved Aurora “Bola” Sanchez Amaro, age 88, resident of Austin, Texas, was received to eternal life on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Aurora is reunited with her loving husband, Edward "Eddie" Amaro, Sr., beloved daughter, Linda Ferguson; parents, Pedro and Andrea Borrego Sanchez; sister, Doris Muniz, and brothers, Pedro Sanchez, Jr. and Efrain Sanchez. Aurora is survived by her loving children; Anna Marie Villasana, Edward "Eddie" Amaro, Jr. (Sandra), Mary Estella Avila, Patricia Amaro, Efrain Amaro; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Oralia Espinoza; brothers, Oscar Sanchez and Robert Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends. Aurora is described by her children, family, and community as a giver. Aurora dedicated 32 years of her life to caring for the lives of adults and children living with mental illness and developmental disabilities at Austin-Travis County (MHMR, now known as Integral Care). Even after retirement and beating breast cancer, she continued to give to others through her work in elder care, rendering dignified care to countless elderly persons. The Amaro Family would like to send a special thanks to the families of Rosa Lucuano and Olivia Torres for their dedicated care of Aurora. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Aurora's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. These donations will continue the fight against breast cancer in memory of Aurora. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 a.m., and followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery Street, Austin, Texas. Committal will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks, 14501 North Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas.
