Morris was rather closed mouthed, as real heroes are, about his time in the Navy. He volunteered at seventeen out of patriotism to this country. He served on ships that recovered the wounded and dead and contributed, with his mates, to many miracles in the Korean War. After his honorable commendation and discharge from the Navy, he finished high school and college while working to support his family.
His energy and enthusiasm for the insurance business knew no bound until he was introduced to real estate. He loved the land! He loved even the mundane details like surveys and title flaws. However, as his friend and comptroller General Dews said; "You have to empty Morris pockets to get deals and receipts." Morris never used a notebook or organizer, most of his deals were on napkins or the back of envelopes or in his steel trap mind. He might be late for an appointment, but he never forgot. In fact, he never forgot anything when it came to business.
From the ranches, farms, and other land he sold came his love for horses which he has passed on to his grandchildren, especially his oldest granddaughter, Maegan.
This love led to his activities as a Founder and Director of the Austin-Travis County Livestock Show and horse racing. He loved to watch those ponies run!
Richard Moya has been his best friend since school. They grew up together, stayed fiends for life and it was Richard who provided him with care and companionship for many months. No thanks are great enough for his contributions this last year.
Special thanks to Dr. Pamela New, his nuero-oncologist, Dr. Dina a special friend and Sandy Ansari a true angel.
