Our beloved Gonzalo Castro, age 84, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. He is reunited with his sons, Fidel Castro, Raul Castro; his daughters, Lisa Lambert, Ramona Castro;his grandson, Fidel Castro, Jr.; his great-grandson, Benjamin Castro; his parents, Pedro Castro and Emilia Garcia; his siblings, Mary Alice Tello, Ofelia Castro, Lupe Castro, and Pedro G. Mr. Castro honorably served the Army National Guard of Texas in the Army Reserve as an auto repairman, primarily specializing in military vehicle repairs. He loved to talk about his service in the reserve and the many places he visited while he was deployed. After his honorable departure from the military, he worked at Nissan Motors for many years. His favorite pastimes were watching old Western movies, PBS, documentaries (especially of the war), and reruns of classic comedy shows like "Archie Bunker", "M*A*S*H*", and "Sanford and Son."
The Castro Family especially thanks Hospice Austin and their care team, especially Julianna and Jose.
Gonzalo is survived by his children, Mary Jane Colunga, Sarah Guajardo, and her spouse, Bobby, Guadalupe "Lupe" Castro, and his spouse, Kristy Young; 16 precious grandchildren; his brothers, Daniel Castro, and his spouse, Felipa, Joe Castro; and his sister, Virginia Navarro; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and many friends.
