Obituary of Armando F. Cantú

Our beloved Armando F. Cantú, age 72, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.  Armando was preceded in death by his precious grandson, Raul Cruz III; his parents, Rogelio Cantú and his wife, Filomena Cantú and Leonor Fuentes and half-brother, Jorge.

Armando is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria Cantú; his children, Mary Jane Cantú, Armando Cantú, Jr. (Monica Ruiz), and Erika Lynn Cantú (Paul Martinez); his grandchildren, Armando Cantú III (Brendann Herrera), Sydney Cantú, Joe Robert Cantú (Deya Gutierrez), Linsey Cantú, Patrick Roger Cantú, Madalynn Benitez (Uriel Ahumada), Bella Rose Benitez, Angel Noel Martinez, Adriana Martinez, Juliana Martinez, and John Paul Martinez; his great grandchildren, Armando Cantú IV, Matteo Cantú, Leo Ahumada, and Layla Ahumada; his sister, Yolanda Diaz (Jose); half-siblings, Elizabeth, Lidia, Marta, Dinora Patricia, Estaban, Cesar and Timo; his nieces and nephews, Hermalinda Diaz (Marcos Perez) and family, Esmerelda Diaz and son, Larry Vega III, Joe Diaz (Maribel) and family, Roger Diaz and family, Anna Diaz (Robert Goodrow) and family; Treviño extended family with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law; Cantú extended family with aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as so many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, 330 Berry Ln., Georgetown, Texas.
