Obituary of Maurice "Morris" G. Ledesma

Our beloved Maurice "Morris" Garcia Ledesma,Jr., age 87, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Morris is reunited with his son, Ernest Diaz; his parents, Maurice Ledesma, Sr. and Julia Garcia Ledesma; his siblings, Alice Ledesma Gomez, Bertha Ledesma, David Ledesma; and his daughter, Herlinda Ledesma. 

Morris is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Frances Carmona Diaz; his children, Margie Diaz and husband Martin Hernandez, Adolph Ledesma and Diane, Diana Cortinas, and her spouse, Edward, Joanne Paiz, and her spouse, Ray, Christine Trevino, and her spouse, Gilbert, Morris Vincent Rangel, and his wife, Stacie; his granddaughter, whom he raised as his own daughter, Sandra Martinez and her husband Marcelo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Pallbearers will be Rudy Longoria, Venancio “Benny” Díaz, Margie Díaz, Naomi Sánchez, Vicente Sánchez, and George Arechiga.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Sandra Martinez, Marcelo Martinez, and Robert Benavides.

Morris was employed by Glastron boats for 25 years and Capital Metro for 20 years.  Morris also served in the Army reserve for 3 years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.  Services will be live-streamed to allow those unable to attend to participate.  Follow link to Facebook Live Mission - East Side

Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery St.  Committal will follow Mass at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.  Thank you to the people from Mission Funeral Home for the beautiful service.
