Obituary of Roy Lee Morgan

Roy Lee Morgan, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Friend entered Eternal Rest on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. Mr. Morgan was a US Marine Corp Veteran serving His Country during the Vietnam War and Discharged Honorably in February of 1965.

Roy is preceded in death by his Parents; Roy M. and Frances Lee (Rust) Morgan, Sister; Frances Morgan, and Brother; Benny Morgan.

Mr. Morgan is survived by His Beloved Wife; Pam V. Morgan, Children; Roy Morgan and his wife Carmen, Troy Morgan, Mark Morgan, Paul “Ponke” Villanueva and his wife Monica Rodriguez, Lydia Gutierrez and Brother; John R. Morgan, 8 Grandchildren; Ashley Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Zachary Morgan, Tiffany Morgan, Cameron Morgan, Sarah Villanueva, Matthew Villanueva and Kaylea Villanueva and 4 Great-Grandchildren; Jacob Roy Morgan, Micah Alexander Morgan, Jude Isaac Morgan and Aubrey Malagarie.

In his younger years Roy, known by the softball world as Leewas played for the Bombers, coached youth football for the Boys Club of Austin Golden Eagle and coached youth baseball at Thorpe Fields in East Austin for many years. The Roy Lee Morgan Batting Cage “House of Power is named after him for his continued volunteer work at the youth baseball complex for many many years.

Serving as pallbearers is Roy C. Morgan, Troy Morgan, Mark Morgan, Ashley Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Zachary Morgan, Matthew Villanueva and Paul “Ponke” Villanueva. Honorary pallbearers Cameron “Ace” Morgan and Tiffany Lee Morgan

Family would like to express gratitude to Mr. Morgan caretaker Patience Tanda with Maxim Healthcare and staff members of Hospice Austin.   

Visitation Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00p.m. at Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez, Austin Texas 78702.

Funeral Liturgy Service will be held on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at 11:00a.m. with Deacon Marion Renteria officiating at Mission Funeral Home.

Interment with US Marine Corp Honors will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH-35, Austin Texas 78704.

Recitation of Holy Rosary and Funeral Liturgy Services will be live-streamed to allow those unable to attend to participate. Follow link to Facebook Live Mission - East Side
