Obituary of Josie Aros Esparza

Our beloved Josie Aros Esparza, age 80, resident of Austin Texas, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, December 11, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Esparza; her parents, Augustin Aros and Guadalupe Vera; her daughter, Elizabeth Esparza; her grandchild, Maria Trinidad Gonzalez; her siblings, Victoria Corpus, Raymond Salazar, and Lorenzo Guzman; 

Josie is survived by her children, Carol Esparza, Dolores Gonzalez (Miguel), Joe Canuto Esparza, Monica Estrada (Gilbert), Michael Anthony Esparza (Katherine); 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; her siblings, Johnny Tamayo, Elezar Tamayo, Edwin Tamayo, Celia Castillo, Belia Rodriguez, Esther Tamayo, Mary Alice Navarro, Rosemary Miramontez, and Olga Tamayo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loving family and friends. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Joe Angel Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez, Jacob Anthony Esparza, Joe Eduardo Esparza, Michael Anthony Esparza, Jr., Mason Joe Anthony Esparza, and Bennie Estrada.

Honorary Pallbearers are Isaiah Gonzalez, Christopher Anthony Sengsourichanh, Jerry Lopez, Aaron Hernandez, and Patrick Esparza.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin Texas 78745.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin Texas 78741.

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
