Obituary of Maria Ygnacia Gonzales

Our beloved Maria Ygnacia Gonzales, age 89, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 26, 2023.  She was greeted in heaven by her husband of 39 years, Pedro Gonzales; her sons, Paul Carmona, David Carmona, and Juan Manuel Hisbrook; her parents, Blasa and Elias Gallardo, Jr.; her siblings, Nicolas Trujillo Gallardo, Elisa Montana, Elias Gallardo III, Joe Luis Gallardo, Johnnie David Gallardo, and her in-laws, Alfred Loera, Alfredo Montana, and Charles Jenkins.

She was a long time employee and retiree of Eanes ISD and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Maria is survived by her son, Daniel Carmona; her grandchildren, Daniel Ray Carmona (Angelica), Inez Maria Rodriguez, Jeremiah Eli Carmona, Angel Mary Castillo, Corinna Marie Carmona, Lee Anthony Carmona (Maegan), LeAnn Loyola (Roberto); her siblings, Katherine Sanchez (Juan), Frances Loera, Guadalupe Govea (Dan), Virginia Jenkins, and Rosalie Jackson; her in-laws, Guadalupe Gallardo and Linda Gallardo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Anthony De La Cruz, Xavier De La Cruz, Jeremy Moreno, Arthur Gallardo, Michael Dominguez, Rycherd Ellis.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main St., Buda, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
