Obituary of Richard L. Guerra
Our beloved Richard L. Guerra, age 94, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvino and Guillerma Guerra and his siblings, Teresa Castillo, Macario Guerra, Lydia Estrada, Roberto L. Guerra, and Lupe Martinez.
Richard proudly served our country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Richard is survived by his wife of 72 years, Angelina Guerra; his children, Richard M. Guerra, Jr. (Gabriela), Alvino Guerra (Vilda), Gloria Martinez (Alex), Angela Guerra (Daniel Garcia), and Angelita Guerra (Mario Lopez); his treasured grandchildren, Armando (Jennifer), Graciella (James), Nicolas, Alex, Jr. (Stephanie), Stephanie, Katrina (Armando), Eric, James Anthony, and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Jenavieve, Jayme, Savanna, and Elijah; his sisters, Margaret Medrano, Ester Matta, and Virginia Martinez; his brother, Samuel Olivo as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. David's Hospice and Family Care and St. David's Heart Hospital of Austin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service and Eulogy beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
