Obituary of Dominga Tovar

Our beloved Dominga Celedon Tovar, age 79, life-long resident of Austin, Texas, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gonzalo Celedon and Dominga Guerrero Celedon; her daughter, Dorothy Ann Tovar; her siblings, Felipe Celedon, Gonzalo "Vito" Celedon, Evangelina "Chula" Saucedo, and Josefa Celedon.

Dominga is survived by her beloved husband of 64 beautiful years, Felix Tovar, Jr.; her children, Felix Tovar III and spouse Molly,  Alfred Tovar and spouse, Dolores, James "Jimmy" Tovar and spouse Rachel, Bertha T. Powell and spouse, Chris, and Adrian "A.C." Tovar and spouse, Ana; her siblings, Manuela "Keta" Bausley, Julio Celedon, Tony Celedon, Luis Celedon, Francisco "Pancho" Celedon, Manuel Celedon, Celestino "Tino" Celedon, and Rudy Celedon Ancira; 32 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other loving family and friends. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Felix Tovar IV, Alfred "AJ" Tovar, Jr., James "Jaime" Tovar, Jr., Christian Powell II, Franklin Tovar Carpenter, Jr., and Justin "JT" Tovar. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Sta. Julia Catholic Church, 3010 Lyons Rd. Austin, Texas 78702.

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
