Obituary of Samuel "Sam" Herrera

Our beloved Sam Herrera, age 58, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.  Sam was preceded in death by his mother Mary Herrera.

Sam is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ana Maria Solis-Herrera; his children, Gabriel S. Herrera and Elizabeth S. Herrera; his sister, Lucy R. Herrera; his uncle, Eddie Renteria and his wife, Alma; his aunt, Lori Hall and her husband, Ron, as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Thad McDonald, Pete Price, Gary Grottke, Mark Estrada, Ed Zavala, Marcus Alsup, Ric Ancira, and Donovan Dettmer.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity, 6204 S. Refreshments will be served during the visitation hours (4:00 pm to 7:00 pm) at Serenity Reception Hall just across the parking lot of Mission Serenity Funeral Home. 

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th (Lydia & 9th), Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Lunch Reception to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall.
