Obituary of Manuela Ramirez

Our beloved Manuela P. Ramirez, age 95, resident of Austin, Texas, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 4, 1928, in Crystal City, Texas.  Manuela was one of six children being the only girl.  She eventually moved to Hornsby, TX where she met her love Guadalupe “Lupe” Ramirez and became a beloved housewife and mother who raised 9 children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Paredes and Maria Valderas Paredes; her beloved husband of 61 beautiful years, Guadalupe “Lupe” Ramirez; her brothers, Faustino Paredes, Celestino Paredes, Frank Paredes, Juan Paredes, and Florentino Paredes. 

Manuela is survived by her children, John Ramirez, Beatrice Ramirez, Robert Ramirez (Carolyn), MaryLinda Munday (Jeff), JoAnn Polk (Eddie), Gloria Valdez (Luis), Josie Verver (Paul), Alyce Acosta (Caesar), and Theresa Ramirez; her grandchildren, Amanda (Chuck), Crystal, Bobby, Chriselda (Ricardo), Ashley (Manuel), Steven, Amy, Tiffiny (Gerard), Lynn, Gregory, Leanne, Brittany, Frank, Luke, Stephanie, Sierra, Savanah, Randy (Aurora), and Isabella; 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and many other loving family and friends. 

Manuela’s greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Despite her large family, Manuela always made time for everyone.  She always provided support and encouragement for her family.  Manuela could be described as kind, caring, and loving.   She enjoyed listening to her Tejano and Christian music and was always checking in with her family, making sure everyone was doing well.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Julia Catholic Church, 3010 Lyons Rd. Austin, Texas 78702.  Interment to follow at Jones Cemetery, Cadillac Dr., Austin, Texas.
