Obituary of Rosalinda Villegas
Our beloved Rosalinda Villegas, age 69, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 13, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her precious baby son, Eric Thomas Villegas; her parents, Heriberto and Rosa Teneyuque and her sister, Sulema De Leon.
Rosalinda was a woman of remarkable beauty and boundless kindness, her heart overflowing with a profound love for her family. Her unwavering dedication to helping others was a testament to her compassionate spirit. Her innate talent for creation afforded her the opportunity to connect and collaborate with a diverse array of individuals.
Sewing held a special place in her heart, where her creative genius thrived. My brother, father, and I had the privilege of witnessing the enchanting transformation of fabrics into one-of-a-kind masterpieces over the years.
In 2014, Rosalinda faced a daunting challenge in the form of a brain aneurysm. During that trying time, uncertainty gripped our hearts, and we feared she might not survive. Yet, Rosalinda defied all odds, blessing us with the chance to partake in numerous cherished moments. She reveled in witnessing my son's high school graduation, celebrated her niece's college achievement, rejoiced in my brother's marriage to his husband, and welcomed the births of her great-niece and great-nephew. Each of these milestones held a special place in her heart, and they were precious blessings to her.
Today, we grapple with the profound sense of loss that envelops us, knowing that her absence will be keenly felt for the foreseeable future. However, I have unwavering faith, as does my family, that she will remain a presence in our lives in one form or another. Whenever you sense a gentle breeze, rest assured that it is her delicate touch. The subtle fragrance of her perfume is her way of greeting you. Should you hear your name whispered when no one is near, know that it is her reassuring you that you are never alone. Lastly, if you spot a hummingbird in flight nearby, understand that it is her way of reminding you of the enduring love she held for all of us.
Rosalinda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward Villegas; her children, Sonya Nabors and her husband, Richard; Patrick Villegas and his husband, Chris; treasured grandson, Eric Nabors; sisters, Esperanza Teneyuque (Andres Sanchez) and Ann Marie Teneyuque, as well as nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 with speakers beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
