Obituary of Domingo R. Vera

On Thursday, September 21st, 2023, Domingo Vera, Beloved Father, entered Eternal Rest to be with our Savior at the age of 97.  Domingo was a WWII Veteran Serving in the US Army. An avid Boxing enthusiast whom loved and shared a sport with family and friends, and enjoyed being a member of a local Charradea Group. 

Domingo is preceded in death by His Parents; Cayetano and Paula (Ruiz) Vera, 6 Sisters; Pauline Lopez, Guadalupe Tamayo, Juanita Salazar, Ramona Hipolito, Margaret Bazan, and Ramona Reyes, and by the Mother of His Children; Cruz Martinez Vera. 

Mr. Vera's values in life were instilled to His Children of hard work and perseverance, and never give up to accomplish what you were set to be and do without giving up and to do the very best that you can by faith, and to make the dream come true. This trait of Mr. Vera will be passed on to the next generation of the Vera family. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be His Grandsons.

Mr. Vera is survived by Beloved Children Mary Vera, Marcelo Vera, Angelina Vera and her husband Raphael Shapiro, Richard Vera and his wife Yolanda, Domingo Vera Jr. and his wife Mary, Gloria Vera, Isabel Salazar and her husband Juan, Estella Vera, Anthony Vera and his wife Kathy, and Diana Vera and her husband Dennis, 1 Sister; Mary Helen Miramontes, 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren, and a Host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26th, 2023, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Chapel, 1615 Cesar Chavez, Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Austin, Texas, at 11:00 a.m., with Friar Florencio Rodriguez officiating

Internment Committal Services will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas.
