Obituary of Linda Kay Gomez

Our beloved Linda Kay Gomez, age 71, Austin Native, was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.  She was proceeded in death by her son Steve Gomez; her father, Raul Rodriguez; her siblings, Rick Rodriguez, Danny Rodriguez, Louie Garcia, and Patricia Garcia.

Born in Austin, Texas on January 18, 1952.   She graduated from Johnston High School.  After marrying her sweetheart, Renaldo Ramos Gomez, she started her career of 26 years with the Austin Police Department while raising her family.

In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, attending her grandchildren’s school activities, and watching her grandsons play ball.

Nothing in this world gave her more joy than the Legacy she has left behind.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Renaldo “Roy” Gomez; her mother Bertha Garcia; her beloved children, Christopher Gomez and his wife, Jennifer; Renaldo Gomez and his wife, Amanda; daughter-in-law, Pauletta Gomez; her treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ryan Gomez, Gabriella Perez and her husband, Nick, Derek Gomez, Steven Gomez, Jacob Navarro, Meliea Jordan Delossantos, Caleb Gomez, Heidi Nevaeh Hernandez Gomez, Gianna Chrislynn Gomez, Christopher Gomez, and Lilliana Lupita Gomez; great grandchildren, Zayden Perez, Zoey Perez, and Zuri Perez; her sister, Sandra Amaro and her husband, Edward; her brothers, Raul Rodriguez, Jr. and Michael Garcia; her uncles, Charles Saucedo and his wife, Gloria, and Jesse Saucedo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Derek Gomez, Steven Gomez, Caleb Joe Gomez, Mason Amaro, Lupe Urquidi, and Richard Mojica.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., officiated by dear family friend, Deacon Richard Botello, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow Mass at Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery, 11610 Chapel Ln., Austin, Texas.
