Obituary of Ruben G. Vasquez

Our Beloved Ruben G. Vasquez, age 76 of Lockhart, formally of Austin, entered Eternal Rest on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023.

Mr. Vasquez is preceded in death by his Son; Joe Anthony Vasquez, Parents; Francisco, Jr. and Margarita (Guajardo) Vasquez, and 1 Sister; Eva Limon, and Granddaughter; Annabell Rojas.

Ruben was a Member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Julia Catholic Church and served as Grand Knight for 2 consecutive terms.

Ruben is survived by His Beloved Wife of 57 years; Mary G. Vasquez, 1 Daughter; Melissa Vasquez Saucedo and Husband Edward, 2 Sons; Ruben Vasquez, Jr., and Francisco Vasquez, and Wife Andrea, 2 Sisters; Celia Pruneda and Husband Alejos, Elena Rand and Husband Al, 4 Brothers; Robert Vasquez and Wife Estela, Antonio Vasquez and Wife Clemencia, David Vasquez and Wife Mary, and Albert Vasquez, Brother-in-law; Tom Limon, Grandchildren; Elizabeth, Eva, Frankie, Jr., Faith Alexandria, Justin, Joe, Anthony, Ruben IV, Ruben III, Angelita, Amadeus, Aliana, Joe, Melanie, Matthew, Antonio, and Maria, and a host of Great-Grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be; Ruben III, Ruben IV, Joe Anthony, Joe Angel, Anthony, Amadeus, Justin and Francisco, Jr. 

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers; Francisco Vasquez, Edward Saucedo, and Ruben Vasquez, Jr.. 

We also welcome our honored guests: the Knights of Columbus. 

Visitation Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Chapel, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez, Austin Texas 78702.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery St., Austin Texas 78702.

Services for Mr. Vasquez will conclude after the Funeral Mass at St. Julia Catholic Church on Thursday, September 14th, 2023.
