Obituary of Antonio Gonzales

Our Beloved Antonio “Tony” Gonzales, age 65 of Austin, passed away on Thursday, August 24th, 2023. Preceded in death by his Parents; Domingo and Carmen (Rodriguez) Gonzales, one Sister; Susana Morris, and 3 Brothers; Domingo Gonzales, Luis Gonzales, and Ricardo Gonzales. 

Antonio is survived by his wife Mary Alice Gonzales of 50 years; daughters Mary Pauline Gonzales (spouse Orlando), and Crystal Star Gonzales; sons Antonio Gonzales Jr., Joe Luis Gonzales (spouse Yessica), and Domingo Ignacio Gonzales; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Antonio is also survived by his sisters Dolores Hernandez, Aurora Arellano, Carmen Flores, Oralia Morales and husband Enrique, Janie Flores and husband Lorenzo, Virginia Vargas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A great man is gone. We mourn the loss of an exceptional man who consistently went above and beyond for his family and friends. He was the true definition of a jack of all trades. From building a house to painting it inside and out (which is what he did best and was known for), to rebuilding a motor in a car. He did it all, there was no job too big for him, he always figured out a way to fix something or make it work. He was even a comedian always telling everyone his jokes making them laugh. He always stepped in when someone needed a dancing partner and loved dancing to The Twist. He was the happiest man alive especially when barbequing, fishing, and admiring old cars. His eyes lit up when talking about his infamous ’63 Chevy Impala and the stories about it are never ending. He is the best husband, dad, and popo anyone could ask for, always making sure we were taken care of. We will forever love and miss him. We love you endlessly. Visitation Services will be held on Thursday, September 7th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Chapel, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez, Austin Texas 78702.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th St., Austin Texas 78702.

Serving as primary pallbearers are Bobby Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Luis Gonzales Jr., Steven Joe Gonzales, and Larry Gonzales.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jacob Rene Delao Jr., and Jordan Ryan Delao.

Interment Committal Service will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery, 11610 Chapel Ln., Austin, Texas 78748. 

Our family would like to extend our gratitude and provide food following services until 5PM at Creedmoor Community Center at 12513 FM 1625, Creedmoor, TX 78610.
