Obituary of Antonia G. Reyna

Our beloved Antonia G. Reyna, age 89, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 13, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Reyna; her parents, Jimmy and Julia Gonzales, and her brothers and sisters, Jimmy Gonzales (Janie), Andrew Gonzales (Sara), Pablo Gonzales (Nancy), Manuel Gonzales (Maggie), Juan Gonzales (Pancha), Basilio Gonzales (Janie), Saferano Gonzales (Anita), Julia Gonzales (Conrad), Maria Gonzales Cruz (Paul, Sr.), Pete C. Duran, and Clara Gonzales Resendez (Conal).

Antonia married John Reyna January 1957 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage before his death. Antonia worked for AISD from which she retired from. Antonia loved and spoiled her grandchildren. She loved to cook and was famous for her tamales and baked goods. Antonia loved traveling, her favorite spots to travel to were at the casinos. Antonia was full of life until her recent illness and so they say that when an angel visits us we do not hear their wings or feel their feathers we just know their presence by the love they create in our hearts, Antonia is now an angel.--

Antonia is survived by her children, Sylvia Castillo (Ray) and Hector Reyna (Stacie); her treasured grandchildren, John Anthony Castillo (Miranda Cisneros), Hector Johnathon Reyna, Francis Dulles, and Dario Ballard; her brother, Juan C. Duran (Anita); sisters, Ruby Reynaga and Della Santa Ana; her sister-in-law, Paula Duran and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be John A. Castillo Hector J. Reyna, Francis Dulles, Ricky Reyna, Hector Reyna, and Joe Perez, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
