Obituary of Brian Bojangles Degollado

Brian Bojangles Degollado, 50, born March 10, 1973, in Austin, Texas passed away peacefully Sunday June 25, 2023 in the arms of his longtime girlfriend Meredith Carlson having succumbed to the diabetes that plagued the end of his life.

He is preceded in death by his son Brian Chase Degollado-Eblen; cherished brother Patrick Lucas Degollado; paternal grandparents Herman & Maria Degollado; maternal grandparents Pancho & Manuela Mayo; beloved cousins Erica Caballero, Zachery Vasquez, Christopher Mayo, Michael Vasquez, Frank Torres, and Brandon Mayo; Aunts Beatrice Mayo, Sandra Muraida, Amelia Mayo, and Maria Sanchez Mayo; and Uncles Jesse Mayo and Juan Vasquez who will be waiting to greet him at the gates of heaven.

The memory of Brian will live on in his children Jennifer Degollado, Asia Eblen, and Lucas Degollado; his parents, Jesse & Rosalinda Degollado; his sister Rozlyn Degollado (Gabriel Leija); sister-in-law Christine (Kelsey) Patrick; nephews Jesse Degollado, KJ Patrick, and Joshua Patrick; niece Makena Patrick & many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends too numerous to list.

We will remember Brian for his love of movies, comedy, and music. Brian was a vivacious spirit who reveled in spinning a tale and inciting laughter. Brian was our compendium for actors, movies, and quotes before Google ever existed. He loved to sing and make up his own songs. The crazy tunes of his own composition will live forever in our hearts. Even though he didn’t make it to Padre one more time, we will think of him whenever we dip our toes in the sand.

Funeral Services for Brian will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at San Jose Catholic Church located at 2435 Oak Crest Ave in Austin, Texas; rosary will be held at 10:00 AM, Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, followed by inurnment at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
