Obituary of Josefina Pulido

In loving memory of Josefina (“Josie”) Vaquera Pulido, a remarkable soul who touched countless lives and cherished the importance of family. With a heart overflowing with love and compassion, Josie dedicated her life to caring for others, leaving an indelible impact on those fortunate enough to have known her.

Josie’s love and maternal nature were not limited to the wife of Pascual Pulido (deceased) and mother; she dedicated herself to caring for numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and children within her community. The students of Kingsland Hall at the University of Texas benefited from her influence as Josie served hot meals and advice and treated them as a family throughout the years.

On June 15, 2023, Josie Vaquera Pulido peacefully passed away, leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and familial devotion. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Pascual; her daughters, Alicia Pulido and Frances “Clara” Torres; her mother, Augustina Vaquera; and siblings, Anita Guerra, Ismael Vaquera, Delfino Vaquera, and Refugio Vaquera.

Josie is survived by her brothers Enrique Vaquera (Estella) and Gregory Vaquera (Yolanda); her children Genaro Pulido, Lino Pulido (Angie), Irene Flores (Henry), Albert Pulido, Fred Pulido (Holly), Pete Pulido, Susie Piña (Julian (deceased), Patrick Pulido (Sara), Sally Denton (Lisa) and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.

Her family and friends will deeply feel her absence and the countless lives she enriched with her unwavering kindness. Although she may no longer be physically present, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those blessed to have known her.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on June 22, 2023, at Mission Funeral Home, followed immediately by the rosary being prayed at 7:00. Funeral mass will be held on June 23, 2023, at 10:00 am, at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church to celebrate her remarkable life with burial at Assumption Cemetary.
