Obituary of Cordel Bullock

Colonel Cordel Bullock, age 62, resident of Austin, Texas, was called home on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Brown and Rosie May Bullock; his sister, Flora Wilburn; and his nephew, Michael Wilburn. 

Col. Bullock is survived by his children, Cordel Bullock, Jr. and his wife, Megan, Andrea Holman and her husband, Tepera, David Bullock, and Alicia Bullock; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Holman, Rian Wesley, Reese Bullock, Josiah Holman, and Bishop Bullock; his siblings, Brenda Bullock and Sylvester Bullock; his nephew, James Bullock, and many other loving family members and friends. 

Col. Bullock was born and raised in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He was a proud alumnus of Mississippi Valley State University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Technology Electronics in 1982. During that time, he served as a cadet commander in the Air Force ROTC program.

Cordel and Linda Bullock were married in 1984 and together they raised four children.  Col. Bullock received a master’s degree in human resources management from Houston Christian University in 1991. Col. Bullock served the United States Air Force for throughout his adult life on active and reserve duty until his retirement.

He served his country in various roles, including Aircraft Maintenance Officer, Officer in Charge of an Aircraft Maintenance Unit, Chief of the Maintenance Training Division, and Commander of the Field Training Detachment.

Visitation Service will be held on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mission Funeral Home-Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. First St., Austin Texas 78745.

Reflection of Life Service will commence at 10:00a.m. on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at Mission Funeral Home-Serenity Chapel.

Graveside Interment Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday at Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors, located at 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.
