Obituary of Anita R. Hernandez

Our beloved Anita R. Hernandez, age 63, was called to our heavenly Father on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Hernandez, Jr: and her father, Pedro Ruedas

Anita is survived by her mother, Eloisa Ruedas; her loving husband of 45 years; Edward Hernandez; her children, Jason Hernandez, Monica Hernandez, Justin Hernandez, Joshua Hernandez (Celena), and Jeremy Hernandez (Nelda); her siblings, Guadalupe Ruedas, Eloisa Gonzales (Mario), Sandra Ruedas, Jimmy Ruedas, Eva Mejia (Candi), Rocky Ruedas(Lupia), and Stella Reynolds (Jeff); her 14 grandkids: Leilani Hernandez, Brianna Rodriguez (Joshua), Alexandrea Hernandez, Kevin Gauna, Evelyn Hernandez, Anthony Isaiah Hernandez, Danae Hernandez, Dakota Lincoln, Sophia Hernandez, DakiyahLincoln, Jeremy Hernandez Jr., Diezael Lincoln, AddilynnHernandez, and Andre Hernandez; her 9 great-grandkids: Israel Sanchez, Nathan Hernandez, Isabella Sanchez, Michael- Ray Rodriguez, Lorenzo Rosas, Josiah Rosas, Maelyn Mireles, Marilyn Mireles, and Alaiyah Rodriguez, numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends. 

Anita was a caring, loving, strong woman. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and have weekend festivities with her husband and mother. Her grandkids were her life and would always do anything to make them happy. She enjoyed spending her time shopping, spending time with her family and while she was home, she enjoyed watching game shows to making tortillas to satisfy her grandkids. She would enjoy going to chilis for a good meal, collecting purses to pull her outfits together, and capturing memories on her phone. If anyone was in need, she will find a way to lend a hand, place to stay, an ear to listen, or her honest opinion.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, 9th and Lydia, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd, Austin, Texas.
