Obituary of Manuel Martinez Alvarez
Sir Knight Manuel D. Martinez-Alvarez left this world to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and joined his beloved wife, Mary Louise Alvarez on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Concepcion Martinez-Gomez & Vicente Alvarez Alvarez, His late wife Mary Louise Alvarez; Siblings: Lorenzo Alvarez-Martinez, Guadalupe Alvarez-Martinez, and Francisca Alvarez- Martinez.
He was born in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico on Sept.20, 1955 to Maria Concepcion-Martinez- Gomez & Vicente Alvarez Alvarez. He is survived by 3 wonderful children, Jessica Abeita, Juan Alejandro Alvarez, Danielle Alvarez (husband Edward Espinosa). He also has 4 grandchildren: Jaelynn Abregro, Abelynn Perez, Damian Espinosa, and Marilyn Espinosa.
Siblings: Ana Maria Álvarez Martínez (Husband Javier Martínez, Austin, Texas), Oscar Álvarez Martínez (Wife Amparo Guzman Álvarez, El Estribo, Coahuila), Gerardo Álvarez Martínez (deceased wife Maria Amada Mino Hernandez, Puebla, Puebla) Eusebio Álvarez Martínez (Wife Gloria Navarro Álvarez, El Estribo, Coahuila), Margarita Álvarez Martínez (Husband Pedro San Juanero, Monterrey), many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many great friends.
He was a devoted Catholic and member of the St. Julia Catholic Church. He was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus, for over 13 years. He was exemplified into the 4th Degree as "Sir Knight Manuel”, on April 14, 2012, in Austin, Texas. He married the love of his life Mary Louise Alvarez on Oct. 20, 1980.
Manuel was a humble, compassionate, loving man that carried no ill feeling towards anyone. He greeted everyone with a strong handshake and a huge smile, he was a kindhearted man with a pure heart. He was a sports fan! He loved his Chivas. He was always there to support his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He loved going to parties. He loved to sew and cross stitch. He was always willing to make someone a: Quilt, or bag. He was loved by everyone he met; he will be missed.
The family would like to thank all friends, family members and medical personnel who cared for our father in his final days.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 14, 2023, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Mission Funeral Home 1615 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702.
A Celebration of Mass Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Julia’s Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704

Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask
and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support
during this very difficult time.
