Our beloved Bertha P. Nañez, age 82, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Antonia Pompa who raised her; aunt, Margaret Gonzalez; granddaughter, Leann Ramirez; her mother, Pauline Ramirez; her brothers, Mike Ramirez, Abel "Billy" Ramirez, and Robert Ramirez, and her daughter-in-law, Doris Nañez.

Bertha is survived by her children, Karen Soto (Fabian), Cynthia "Cindy" Jackson (Steve), James Nañez (Angelica), and Michelle Bazan-Nañez (Analicia); her grandchildren, Fabian Soto, Xavier Soto, Isaac Soto (Domitila), Steven Anthony Jackson, Joshua Nañez (Megan), James H. Nañez, Orlando Hurtado (Monica), Adrian Hurtado, Rudy Hurtado (Janet), Isaac Hurtado (Amber), David Hernandez, Dean Trevino, Julian Bazan, Mercedez Parker (Roscoe), and Veronica Zepeda (Martin); her sisters, Belia Ruiz (David), Martha Arredondo (Israel), and Stella Lopez (Donnie); her brothers, Albert Ramirez (Yolanda) and Richard Galvan (Carol); sisters-in-law, Vera Ramirez, Rachel Nañez, Hope Ochoa, Esther Ledesma, and Janie Martinez; 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Xavier Soto, Isaac Soto, Steven Anthony Jackson, Joshua Nañez, Jimmy Nañez, and Julian Bazan.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Fabian J. Soto.

The family would like to thank the staff of Texas Oncology; Hospice Suncrest, and Bertha's nurse, Christina at South Austin for their compassionate care they gave our mother.  May God bless and keep each of you.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th St., Austin, Texas.  Public Services will end following Mass.

Rosary will be live-streamed to allow those unable to attend to participate.  Follow link to Facebook Live Mission - South Side
