my name is Todd Smith. I live in New Jersey and graduated from University of Texas in 1982.A few years ago my son had his bachelor party in Austin. He chose Austin because of the many stories I told him from my college days and the great reputation of Austin has been an amazing city. While at the bachelor party that weekend, I drove down the street and saw Louis sitting on his porch. I noticed he was wearing a hat very similar to the one I had purchased many years ago while I was a student. I felt inspired to go talk to this man sitting on his porch in a somewhat peaceful way. Louis shared with me a bit of his history with many of his fascinating stories including his dismay of being released from his parking lot position because he wouldn't let some hotshot businessman park for free. Louis continued to share his stories, and during my brief visit, I asked him if he would autograph my hat. it is certainly one of my prized possessions to this day. I will always wear it pride and now especially that Texas has a shot at winning the national championship. Rest in peace Louis you were an amazing man and I will always remember you as the greatest longhorn that has lived. PS while my dad born in 1930 passed away in 2007, my mom who is born in 1931 continues to contribute her love and wisdom as a member of the greatest generation.

My Deepest Condolences and sympathy to the Murillo family on the enormous lost of "Louie", as well to the joker nation. Louie earned his wings and has left this temporary life to the eternal life with Our Precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to be with those loved ones that left before him. "Louie" was a jokester and had a heart of a giant. May he Rest in Peace. Respectfully; Hector J Polanco (friend)

Q: What will you never forget about Louis?
A: I knew Louie from the time I was a young boy and he was always like an uncle to me. He became “Uncle” Louie to may daughter as well. She has so many personalized University of Texas gear from Louie. And the baseballs! Man the baseballs. Louie would make a point of giving her a ball at every game she attended. I also have many autographed balls. Everyone from Coach Gus, Augie, the Rocket etc. I’ll never forget Louie’s generosity and genuine friendship.
