Obituary of Jovita Rodriguez

Our beloved Jovita Rodriguez, age 63, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 12, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Serafin and Jovita Gallardo; her precious grandchildren, Mark Rodriguez, Isabella Samilpa, and Amira Hernandez; her siblings, Frank Gallardo, Rudy Gallardo, Ernest Gallardo; her nephews, Gregory Loera, Manuel Campos and Alfredo Gallardo, and her brothers-in-law, Glenn Casares, Joe Segovia, and Valentino Castillo.

Jovita is survived by her husband of 40 years, Raymond Samilpa, Jr.; her children, Moses Rodriguez III, Mary Alvarez (Jose), Albert Rodriguez, Sr., Raymond Samilpa III (Stephanie); step-children, Amy Samilpa, Jon Samilpa, Regina Samilpa, and Kristi Samilpa; her treasured grandchildren, Madelyn Alvarez, Brianna Ortiz, Amber Rodriguez, Albert Rodriguez, Jr., Mya Fernandez, Jasmine Fernandez, Analisa Hernandez, Iliana Samilpa, Aracelli Samilpa, Jonathon Samilpa, Jordan Samilpa, Sabrina Samilpa, CJ Sanchez and Alyssa Samilpa; her great grandchildren, Joseph Ortiz, Izaiah Rodriguez, Ava Edwards, Astrid Edwards, Nicolas Hernandez, Sophia Esquivel and Amari Ray Acevedo; her sisters, Susie Davila (Roy), Elizabeth Loera (Tony), Yolanda Guerra (Joe), Janie Casares, Patsy Segovia, Diane Castillo, and Terry Garcia (Jim), and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 9th St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
